Chemistry/biochemistry and materials science and engineering graduate student Eugene Gyasi Agyemang has been awarded a generous travel grant to participate in the the12th International Conference of the African Materials Research Society (AMRS2024) in Kigali, Rwanda, courtesy of the Joint US-Africa Materials Institute (JUAMI) program. He will make an oral presentation describing his research in "Nanoelectrochemistry" back here at the U of A.

The JUAMI program, jointly funded by the US National Science Foundation, the Global Initiatives Program of Northwestern University's McCormick College of Engineering and the International Center for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy, aims to build collaborations in materials research between Africa and the United States, as well as other countries.

"I am deeply honored and encouraged to receive this recognition," Agyemang said. "Thanks to my adviser, Dr. M.A Edwards, for his support."
