Homicide – Arrest: C24-254652

Update:

The Homicide Unit continued its investigation into the dealth of 28-year-old Briannah CLOWES in the first 100 block of The Promenade on October 31, 2024.

Investigators identified an adult male believed to be involved in the incident.

On November 3, the male suspect was arrested without incident by North District General Patrol officers.

Ryan John KENNEDY, 32, of Winnipeg has been charged with the following:

  • Second Degree Murder

He was detained in custody.

KENNEDY and CLOWES were previously known to one another.

As previously released;

on October 31, 2024, at approximately 3:10 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the first 100 block of The Promenade, for the report of a suspicious circumstances incident involving an unresponsive female.

Central District General Patrol officers attended located a female suffering from life threatening injuries and provided emergency medical care. The female was transported to hospital in critical condition where she was pronounced deceased.

The Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation and have now identified the victim as 28-year-old Briannah CLOWES of Winnipeg. Notifications to family have been made.
