President's News - 2024.12.11
The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has held a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to discuss the situation on the ground and Spain's support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
Pedro Sánchez once again conveyed to Zelenskyy Spain's support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. In this regard, the president said that the commitment to Ukraine remains firm and intact.
An example of this is the bilateral security agreement between Spain and Ukraine that was signed last May, which involved, among other issues, Spain's commitment to provide military support to Ukraine to the tune of 1 billion euros in 2024. Spain has also contributed 100 million euros for humanitarian aid and 400 million euros for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
During the conversation, the president of the Government of Spain stressed that European unity has been key in confronting Putin's war, and that Spain will continue to work to strengthen it. For this reason, Pedro Sánchez stressed the importance of President Zelenskyy's presence at the next European Council.
