NTCA Congratulates Thune on Selection as Senate Majority Leader

NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association today issued the following statement from CEO Shirley Bloomfield after U.S. Senate Republicans selected Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) to serve as Senate majority leader:

"NTCA congratulates Senator Thune for being named the Senate majority leader for the 119th Congress. Senator Thune has been a champion of rural broadband policies throughout his tenure in Congress, and he understands the unique and essential role that small, community-based broadband providers play in connecting rural areas-including by serving nearly 90% of the geography in his home state of South Dakota. We look forward to continuing work on our shared mission of building and sustaining critical connections for rural America."
