O melhor ketchup do Reino Unido é o Rubbies in The Rubble com tomate português

Ketchup from Rubbies in The Rubble, a brand specialized in sustainable condiments, is produced by Casa with Portuguese tomatoes and was chosen by the British newspaper The Sunday Times as the best in the United Kingdom.

This recognition comes at a time when the Golegã company announces, in a statement, that it holds a stake in that brand, through the creation of a "joint venture". Rubbies in The Rubble thus becomes the latest acquisition, joining Paladin and Peninsular.

The objective is to reinforce the appreciation of tomatoes of Portuguese origin and explore the potential of this brand internationally, committed to combating food waste by using surplus and imperfect fruits and vegetables in its recipes. Just like the Golegã brand, which works with the aim of being a reference in the food of the future.

Combating food waste and recognizing the value of Portuguese tomato

Ricardo Ferreira, CEO of MG Foods & Care, the Commercial Area of Casa Mendes Gonçalves, explains the meaning of these initiatives:

"We are excited to announce that Casa Mendes Gonçalves has a stake in the company Rubies in the Rubble, in addition to continuing to be exclusive suppliers. We believe that this partnership will be essential to reinforce our commitment to sustainability, combating food waste and recognition of the value of Portuguese tomatoes."

Jenny Costa, founder of Rubies in the Rubble, says a promising future for both companies: "We couldn't be happier and more excited about this partnership with Casa Mendes Gonçalves. At Rubies in the Rubble, we have built a respected and purposeful brand, and We look forward to making an even greater impact through our partnership."

According to the statement, the British brand, since it was created in 2012, has already transformed more than 992 tons of leftover or poor fruit and vegetables. The sale of products has already made it possible to avoid the emission of more than 832 tons of CO2.
