Letter to the Community

An open letter to our community:

We were all shocked and saddened by the assassination attempt on the life of former President Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13, 2024. We are grateful that he was not seriously harmed, and our prayers are with him and his family. We extend our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Corey Comperatore who died tragically and the other victims in critical condition. We salute the men and women of law enforcement who responded with selflessness and bravery.

In recent years, our country has experienced significant political division. With the November 2024 elections approaching, it is crucial for us to prioritize unity, understanding and peace. We urge our community and the citizens of America to recommit to civil discourse, respect for opinions that differ from our own, and the ultimate pursuit of peaceful elections.

This brazen attack has left our nation shaken, but not broken. Our history and constitution were founded on ideals that still inspire billions of people across the globe. We must also remember the dedication and sacrifices our candidates and political representatives make to serve our country and uphold these cherished ideals. For more 235 years, our country has remained strong and resilient because of our people - people who have always understood its value, power, influence, and the freedoms we hold so dear. It has always been up to us, and it is our duty, to uphold the integrity and promise of this great nation for both current and future generations.

PBA was established on these values of unity, excellence, respect, love, integrity, and accountability, which align closely with the fundamental principles that sustain our nation's strength and resilience. Our institution will be leading a time of prayer this week at our chapel service on Thursday, July 18 at 11 a.m. in the DeSantis Chapel at 300 Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach. We invite the community to join us as we pray for peace, understanding, and healing as we navigate these challenging times.
