SECU has announced that Becky Smith, EVP and Chief Revenue Officer, was named a recipient of the 2024 Banking on Brilliance Awards, powered by KlariVis.
The Banking on Brilliance Awards recognize remarkable women in community banking who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in driving transformation through innovation and data. Smith was selected due to her excellence in innovation and data-driven leadership.

Becky Smith has more than 20 years of integrated marketing leadership experience with specific expertise in guiding companies and brands through transformative advertising and marketing efforts. Since joining SECU in 2019, she has propelled the credit union's reputation as a reliable, member-centric brand that sets new standards for innovative products and experiences. She has executed long-term plans and initiatives focused on marketing, advertising, corporate communications, member experience, community outreach and digital and business intelligence.
Smith has also built and led world-class marketing, strategy, digital and innovation teams to achieve SECU's brand and financial objectives. These include leading SECU's brand refresh, elevating the traditional mobile or digital banking experience by increasing self-serve functionalities while also simulating an in-person branch experience through its award-winning Virtual Financial Center. Under her leadership, SECU's Virtual Financial Centers facilitated more than $215,000 through a first-of-its-kind SECU MD Foundation COVID-19 Relief Fund. She also launched SECU MD Foundation's first-ever Day of Kindness which is in its fifth iteration in 2024, having surpassed 500,000 acts of kindness in one month.
