Some eligible repairs that are covered through HRRP are:

  • Roof system repair or replacement
  • Failing or lacking plumbing

  • Failed structural systems such as floors and structural walls
  • Lack of working heat/AC

This program helps residents of Tampa's CRA's -- both renters and homeowners -- who earn up to 140% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Applications will be available starting August 15th at the TPD District III office, located at 3808 N 22nd St. Tampa, FL 33610 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

"We are eager to begin collecting and processing applications for the new Rehab and Renovation program," said Cedric McCray, Interim CRA Director. "This will bring a huge impact to all of our Community Redevelopment Area residents throughout the City of Tampa."

In addition to filling out the application, individuals must provide the following information: Personal identification, proof of income from all sources for all household members for the last 60 days, recent bank and utility statements, current mortgage statement (if applicable), and a copy of the current homeowner's insurance policy.

Additionally, The City of Tampa will be hosting a processing workshop on August 17th at 2555 E. Hanna Ave. Tampa FL, 33610, where residents can receive assistance with completing their applications and learn more about the program. The processing workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

To spread the word about this program, interested media can schedule an interview with Interim CRA Director Cedric McCray on Tuesday, August 13 or Wednesday, August 14. Please contact Jennifer Holton or [email protected] with interest.
