Limited Submission Opportunity: 2024 Procter & Gamble Higher Education Grant Program

Overview

Vanderbilt University may submit 2applications from each School for the Procter & Gamble Higher Education Grant Program. The program provides support for efforts that will better prepare students for success in business (see examples below). Grant support is for 1 year and awards range between $10,000-$20,000 (no overhead costs allowed). Grants will be provided for specific projects or programs. These grants may not be used to cover operating support, salaries, stipends, travel for students or faculty, or faculty professional development.

Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to:

• Improving curriculum to be at the cutting edge in relevance and effectiveness;
• Fostering and enabling leadership opportunities and learning;
• Creating a learning environment that encourages and enhances innovation and creativity;
• Strengthening diversity in thought, participation and ongoing interaction.

Program Criteria
Proposed programs must meet one of the following criteria:

• Career Development - This includes career centers, programs designed to advance the employability of students, and other projects or programs that support building a larger, more diverse base of employable students from that school.
• Experiential Learning - Any programs or projects that provide students with more exposure to learning by experience (as opposed to traditional classroom-style learning) may fit within this area.
• Innovation - This includes projects, programs, spaces, or materials designed to inspire and facilitate an innovative mindset (and capability) in that school's students. This area focuses on STEM fields and could include developing maker spaces or innovation labs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration - This includes projects or programs that involve collaboration among disciplines and focus on training students on agility and cross-functional skillsets.

Application Process

Anyone interested in being considered as one of Vanderbilt's nominees must submit the following (in PDF format) to [email protected] by 5:00pm,August 6, 2024.

• Brief (2 page max) project description including summary budget
• NIH Biosketch or 5-page CV
• Brief letter of support from department chair/center director

• The letter must also acknowledge that this grant does not allow indirect costs and will commit to covering any associated indirect costs per applicable school/departmental policy*

  *This statement can be used/modified within the letter: "The Department recognizes that this grant does not allow indirect costs and will commit to covering any associated indirect costs per applicable school/institutional policy."
