Ambassador Tanee visits POSCO's facilities in Pohang City and meets with POSCO's and POSTECH’s executives.

On 30 October 2024, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK visited POSCO's facilities in Pohang city, including POSCO Museum and POSCO Pohang Steelworks. At present, POSCO is the world's sixth-largest steelmaker and also has invested in the production of steel and stainless steel in Thailand under POSCO-Thainox PCL.

Ambassador Tanee met with Mr. Lee Kang-bok, Vice President of Admission and Student Affairs, and Mr. Park Sung-Min, Vice President of External Affairs of Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) (established by POSCO) to discuss possible academic cooperation with Thailand in areas such as academic exchanges between POSTECH and Thai schools/universities and scholarship program, especially in the field of STEM.

Ambassador Tanee also visited CHANGeUP Ground, a startup incubator located in POSTECH and supported by POSCO Holding. He emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for relevant agencies related to startups in Thailand and in the ROK to foster exchange and share best practices.
