The Edmonton Police Service's Sexual Assault Section (SAS) is seeking the public's assistance to help identify a male suspect in connection to a pair of violent assaults and personal robberies that occurred Saturday morning involving two sex trade workers.

It was reported to police that the male suspect initially contacted both women through a website and made arrangements to meet for sexual services.

In the first incident, the male suspect met a 30-year-old female complainant at an online rental suite in central Edmonton, at approximately 7 a.m. Shortly thereafter, the male violently attacked the woman rendering her unconscious. The complainant awoke a short time later with significant injuries. The male suspect also reportedly stole cash, a wallet with the woman's identification and her cell phone, before fleeing the scene.

In the second incident, police believe the same male suspect arranged to meet a 27-year-old female complainant for sexual services in a south-side hotel suite, at approximately 7:50 a.m. Following their meet up, the female complainant walked the male suspect to the door, at which time the suspect violently attacked the woman rendering her unconscious. After regaining consciousness, the female complainant noticed the suspect had stolen cash, her wallet with identification and her cell phone.

Today, Sunday, July 7, 2024, SAS investigators are releasing photos of the male suspect and a vehicle he was driving while leaving both scenes. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2018 to 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Trendline.
