On Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, the Santa Rosa Housing Authority approved $3.1 million in Fiscal Year 2024-25 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) awards for the development and rehabilitation of 170 affordable housing units in Santa Rosa.
Funding approved by the Housing Authority includes $1 million for rehabilitation costs for West Avenue Apartments located at 1400 West Avenue; $600,000 for construction-related costs for Stony Point Flats located at 2270 Stony Point Road; $832,500 for predevelopment and construction-related costs for Laurel at Perennial Park Phase III located at 250 Renaissance Way; and $750,000 for predevelopment and construction-related costs for Ponderosa Village located at 250 Roseland Avenue. In total,170 units of affordable housing will be developed or rehabilitated and targeted to households with incomes from 30% to 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
Funding for the City's 2024-25 NOFA awards is provided through a variety of sources, including approximately $1.5 million in funds derived from local fees and set-asides, approximately $600,000 from the state's Permanent Local Housing Allocation, which provides a permanent source of funding to cities and counties to help increase the supply of affordable housing; and approximately $1 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
