Lowe's Makes Contribution to the 10th Annual ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

It may seem like just yesterday that Facebook feeds were crowded with friends, family, and even celebrities dousing themselves with buckets of cold water to raise awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Still, the 10th anniversary of the successful cold campaign is upon us. In honor of the decade-long milestone, Lowe's is donating buckets to keep the tradition alive and funds flowing to the ALS Association during the ALS Nexus Conference in mid-July. For the first time, Lowe's Livable Homes program is a key sponsor for the convention in Texas.

At the heart of the Livable Home program is an unwavering commitment to providing products, services and expertise that significantly impact the lives of individuals who are either trying to age in place or suffering from limited mobility. This program creates accessible living spaces and allows them, no matter the circumstances, to live and thrive in a space that will enable them to maintain their independence and dignity.

Chris McFarland, Lowe's accessible homes director, says partnering with ALS is a step forward in expanding access to those in need.
