The aim of the new degree programme is to educate experts in business innovation and sustainable business. The "Business Innovation and Sustainability" programme includes studies related to new business development, responsibility in business, decision making, and sustainability competences. Further, the programme - which also includes a bachelor thesis, seminar and method studies - allows students to apply their competences in a genuine business context.

"Our new degree programme combines in a creative and pioneering way the core competence of business studies with the knowledge and skills of sustainable development and innovation management raised by the changing society", says Professor Juha-Antti Lamberg from the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics.

"The internationality of the bachelor's programme emphasises the global nature of the challenges and solutions: Finland and Central Finland are not alone with their needs and challenges. The next generation of business graduates needs stronger competences in the global field. No nation or group of people can solve these shared challenges alone. The BIS programme and its top-level teachers offer a carefully designed and comprehensive knowledge base for creating sustainable innovations and managing them through collaboration."

The three-year bachelor's programme is 180 ECTS credits in scope.
