Temporary vehicle, pedestrian route changes along Children’s Way near 24th Avenue South on Nov. 5

Alternative vehicle and pedestrian pathways along Children's Way and 24th Avenue South will be in effect on Sept. 24 and Oct. 1.

NOVEMBER 5

Vehicles

  • The westbound lane of Children's Way between 24th Avenue South and the Children's Way entrance to West Garage will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • There will be intermittent closures of the eastbound lane of Children's Way between 24th Avenue South and the Children's Way entrance.

West Garage Traffic

  • The 24th Avenue and eastbound Children's Way entrances to West Garage will be open.
  • To enter the Children's Way entrance to West Garage (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) commuters should take Blakemore Avenue to 25th Avenue to Children's Way, or take Blakemore Avenue to Natchez Trace to Children's Way.
  • Daily parking enrollees will drive up the ramps in West Garage to the daily parking gates.

Pedestrians

  • The west sidewalk along 24th Avenue South near Blakemore Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The east sidewalk along 24th Avenue South will be fully accessible.
  • The north sidewalk along Children's Way between 24th Avenue South and the Children's Way entrance to West Garage will be closed. The south sidewalk along Children's Way will be fully accessible.

Traffic controllers will direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Signs will be posted in the area to provide notification of these temporary route changes.

All pedestrian and vehicle routes are subject to change. Updates will be shared on MyVU and on the Facilities Instagram and X accounts.
