Washoe County Behavioral Health Administrator Julia Ratti gave an update on regionally significant behavioral health initiatives, including the Crisis Response System.

Mayor Ed Lawson proclaimed December 9, 2024, as Florence Drake Elementary School Day to celebrate the school's national recognition for success in teaching students from special populations.

Mayor Ed Lawson proclaimed the month of January as Radon Action Month to highlight the significant health risk from elevated radon levels and urgers residents to test their homes with free kits available through the University of Nevada Radon Education Program.

City Manager Dion Louthan announced four vacancies on the Sparks Citizens Advisory Committee, each serving coterminously with their appointing elected official. The vacancies are for alternate members for Wards 1, 2, 4, and 5. Members must be Sparks residents. Applications will be accepted until Friday, January 10, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. and can be found at cityofsparks.us/getinvolved.

City Manager Dion Louthan announced six vacancies on the Sparks Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, each to serve coterminously with their appointing elected official. The vacancies include Ward 4 regular member and alternate members for Mayor and Wards 1, 2, 4, and 5. Members shall be residents of the City of Sparks, preferably over the age of 55. Applications will be accepted until Friday, January 10, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. and can be found at cityofsparks.us/getinvolved.

A resolution approving the sale by the City of Sparks of a vacant parcel of land approximately 0.086 acres in size, located at the southeast corner of Rock Boulevard and C Street. The council also approved a $27,500.00 Purchase and Sale Agreement for the land parcel.

A $405,000.00 construction contract for the 2024 Pedestrian Ramp Replacement Project to A&K Earth Movers, Inc.
