2023 GoodRx Helps Scholarships

GoodRx Helps is proud to announce the return of our yearly scholarship offerings for future healthcare workers. We're committed to improving equity in healthcare, and we know that representation matters. That's why we continue to support the careers of students from underrepresented groups.

Diversity and inclusion in the healthcare workforce make a difference. Studies suggest that improved diversity in the workforce can help reduce racial inequities in healthcare and improve outcomes. So it only makes sense to do our part to support students from underrepresented groups who are passionate about changing the face of healthcare.

Financial assistance allows students to focus more on their studies and less on the financial burdens of their training. We hope that providing financial assistance to these individuals will move us one step closer to achieving equity.

What are the scholarships?

This year there are three categories of GoodRx Helps scholarships. We're giving $5,000 to 10 recipients in each category. We're looking for individuals who are passionate about advancing health equity in their fields.

Equity in Pharmacy

The Equity in Pharmacy Scholarship is our oldest program. It aims to support pharmacy and pharmacy tech students from underrepresented groups. Each year we look for future pharmacy professionals with innovative ideas and career-changing ambition.

Last year's applicants were asked to consider the evolving roles of pharmacy professionals and how they might affect patient care. The scholarship winners shared their insights on this topic as well as compelling ideas about how to improve relationships between prescribers and pharmacists.

Future Black Physicians and Physician Associates

This scholarship aims to support the careers of Black students entering the world of medicine. Only 5% of doctors and 3% of physician associates in the U.S. are Black, while 13% of the overall population is Black. We hope that supporting Black students pursuing a medical career can help address that discrepancy.

Be sure to check out last year's scholarship winners. They had powerful insights on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of people in the U.S., particularly those in underrepresented and underserved communities.

Nurses for Change

The Nurses for Change Scholarship is open to nursing students who are passionate about improving equity and patient care. People of color are also underrepresented in nursing, although this is slowly changing.

Scholarship recipients from 2022 shared their goals on improving health disparities, mental health services, and access to care for people in all communities.

The application window for all scholarships is open from June 1 to July 7, 2023. Winners will be announced by mid-August.
