Dynatrace joins the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association

`

As organizations adopt more cloud-native technologies, the risk-and consequences-of cyberattacks are also increasing. This rising risk amplifies the need for reliable security solutions that integrate with existing systems. That's why we're proud to announce that Dynatrace has joined the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA).

Membership in MISA is nomination-only and reserved for independent software vendors who develop security solutions that effectively integrate with MISA-qualifying Microsoft Security products.

The Dynatrace platform has been recognized for seamlessly integrating with the Microsoft Sentinel cloud-native security information and event management (SIEM) solution. Through this integration, Dynatrace enriches data collected by Microsoft Sentinel to provide organizations with enhanced data insights in context of their full technology stack. Combined Dynatrace and Microsoft Sentinel provide security teams a deeper, more complete picture of their security posture to better secure their cloud-native environments.

Supporting SecOps teams through Sentinel defense

Unified observability and application security are essential for cloud-native environments. In a world where organizations require software to work perfectly, organizations must have a complete view of their environments to combat rising cyber-attacks, improve customer outcomes, and ensure business resiliency.

Dynatrace, available as an Azure-native service, has a longstanding partnership with Microsoft, deeply rooted in a strong "build with" approach to deliver seamless user experience. This enables Dynatrace customers to achieve faster time-to-value and accelerate innovation.

This latest integration with Microsoft Sentinel expands our partnership, providing joint customers with a holistic view of their entire cloud environment; from application to infrastructure, data, and security.

"As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated and frequent, it's imperative for organizations to proactively defend their IT environments," said Jay Snyder, SVP, Global Partner and Alliances at Dynatrace. "With Dynatrace, teams gain end-to-end observability and security across all workloads. They can automatically identify vulnerabilities, measure risks, and leverage advanced analytics and automation to mitigate issues. As a MISA member, we look forward to collaborating with Microsoft and other members to develop best practices, share insights, and drive innovation in cloud-native security. We are excited to deepen our relationship with Microsoft, reaffirming our commitment to helping organizations innovate securely."

Combined with Microsoft Sentinel, Dynatrace automation and AI capabilities provide SecOps teams with deeper intelligence to detect attacks, vulnerabilities, audit logs, and problem events based on metrics, logs, and traces it collects from monitored environments. In Microsoft Sentinel, security teams benefit from all the signals Dynatrace Davis® AI automatically generates without unsustainable, manual effort. The solution also allows customers to combine alerts from best-in-class security solutions.

Dynatrace capabilities that support Sentinel integration

Several key Dynatrace platform capabilities complement the Microsoft Sentinel integration.

Davis® AI. The Davis AI engine automatically and continuously delivers actionable insights based on an environment's current state. Using high-fidelity metrics, traces, logs, and user data mapped to a unified entity model, organizations enjoy enhanced automation and broader, deeper security insights into modern cloud environments.

Audit logs. Audit Logs are Dynatrace tenant audit logs used by security teams to identify anomalies. These reports are crucial for tracking changes, compliance, and security-relevant events. Dynatrace logs these events so teams can review important change details, such as when the change was made, who made it, and what was changed. This helps teams pinpoint potential problems before they become larger issues.

Runtime vulnerability analysis. Runtime vulnerability analysis helps reduce the time and cost to find and fix application vulnerabilities. In practice, organizations can implement runtime context to precisely deploy countermeasures and remediation. This helps reduce the time and effort required to address application security issues.

Runtime application protection. Exposure to missed vulnerabilities and zero-day exploits can put applications at risk. With Dynatrace runtime application protection, security teams can continuously monitor for and block common application attacks, such as SQL or command injections. Equipped with information about these vulnerabilities, organizations can take steps to reduce their future risk.

Future-proofing protection

A modern security approach is circular: There's no start or endpoint but rather a state of ongoing innovation and development designed to help organizations future-proof their protection against evolving threats.

Ensuring business resiliency requires a proactive approach to security and observability. By leveraging the combined strengths of Dynatrace and Microsoft Sentinel, enterprises can achieve a comprehensive security posture for enhanced operational efficiency.
