WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following reports of errors and discrepancies in Minnesota elections, Congressman Tom Emmer joined the Minnesota Republican delegation in sending a letter to Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon demanding that his office take action to restore the trust Minnesotans have in the election process. <_o3a_p>
"Election integrity has been a topical and worrisome issue these last few election cycles. Concerns about fraud and abuse have made Americans uneasy and distrustful that elections are truly fair and accurate. Unfortunately, it has been well documented that the election reporting systems in Minnesota have created confusion and raised many questions about the 2024 election results in our state. Your office must act quickly to bring transparency to this situation," said the lawmakers. <_o3a_p>
The lawmakers continued, "With several recounts currently underway, Minnesotans deserve to have confidence that their elections are safe and secure and that their vote is accurately counted. Moreover, in future elections we urge you to consider best practices, such as voter identification, elimination of same-day voter registration, and prohibition of automatic mailed ballots. These simple and effective policies will strengthen election integrity and ensure that all lawful votes are counted quickly and precisely."<_o3a_p>
