Between Dec. 23 and Jan. 1, UNM Facility Management, in collaboration with Lobo Energy, will implement a temperature reduction initiative in unoccupied spaces across our campuses.
This strategic measure is aimed at minimizing energy consumption and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. The impact of this adjustment will primarily be felt in hallways, offices, and classrooms within buildings selected for the Winter Break Setback Program.
It is important to note that all healthcare facilities and research laboratories will maintain their regular occupied temperature settings and remain unaffected by this program.
If you find yourself entering a building included in the Winter Break Setback Program and wish to adjust the temperature, you have the option to override the system and activate the heating for a two-hour period by adjusting the thermostat. We kindly request that this action be limited to workspace areas only.
Your cooperation in this initiative is highly valued as we collectively strive to contribute to the reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Your efforts play a crucial role in fostering sustainability on our campus
