Citizen Information Meeting To Be Held For the Stefaniga and Mountain View Road Project

The Stafford County Department of Capital Projects will host a Citizen Information Meeting for the Stefaniga and Mountain View Road Intersection Improvement Project. The meeting will take place on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm at Mountain View High School.

This project is designed to enhance this intersection's safety and operations significantly. The Stefaniga/Mountain View Road intersection has no traffic signal. It will be realigned with the adjacent Lightfoot Drive/Mountain View Road intersection, which is approximately 200' to the north and also does not have a signal. The new alignment will be converted into a single-lane roundabout.

Additionally, a sidewalk around the roundabout and corresponding curb ramps will be installed and connected to the existing asphalt sidewalk along Lightfoot Drive, further enhancing safety. The sidewalk will also improve residential connectivity and provide for future connections. The goal is to create a safer environment at the intersection for all drivers and pedestrians and provide traffic-calming improvements.
