Honoring a Hero

Concord, NH - Today, after signing SB 592 into law, renaming Route 127 from Central Street in Franklin to the town line of Sanbornton as Chief Bradley Haas Memorial Highway, Governor Chris Sununu issued the following statement:

"Chief Bradley Haas was an absolute hero who gave his life protecting patients and staff while on duty as a Security Officer at New Hampshire Hospital," said Governor Chris Sununu. "Through this tribute within his hometown, Chief Haas will be remembered as a devoted public servant who faithfully served his community for nearly three decades."

Bradley Haas was tragically killed on November 17 while working as a New Hampshire Department of Safety Correction Officer assigned to New Hampshire Hospital. Prior to joining the Department of Safety, Haas served as a military police officer in the U.S. Army, followed by nearly 30 years with the Franklin Police Department, with many years spent as the town's Chief of Police.
