A Huntsville man has been charged with murder in connection to a fatal shooting on Saturday, Oct. 12.
Huntsville Police responded to the 4000 block of Pulaski Pike at 10:50 a.m., where they found Jamie Darquez Cawthorne, 32, of Huntsville, deceased from gunshot wounds.
In less than 24 hours, HPD's Major Crimes Unit identified Jerriance Dural Freeman, 38, of Huntsville, as a suspect and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. It is believed the shooting was the result of an altercation between Freeman and Cawthorne.
Agents with the U.S. Marshals located and arrested Freeman in Colbert County. He will be extradited back to Huntsville and booked into the Madison County Jail.
