A contractor is treating 250 City-owned Torrey pine trees to protect them against invasive bark beetles.
Crews from West Coast Arborists are drilling holes and injecting a solution into the trees.
The time spent at each tree depends on how quickly it uptakes the solution. The project is expected to wrap up later this month.
In recent years, the bark beetle has killed about a dozen City-owned Torrey pines.
Residents with Torrey pines on their property are strongly encouraged to work with an arborist regularly to protect the health of their trees.
