Redefining the Storage Experience

Pure Storage has always been committed to building efficiencies into its storage platform and unique business models. We have continued on our storage efficiency trajectory, launching several new products and completing energy label certification on every product throughout FY23 and FY24.

Our unified data storage platform is engineered to store more data in less space for greater energy efficiency while delivering performance, reliability, and simplicity across all operating environments. Compared to other all-flash and mechanical disk-based options, our platform offers significant savings on energy, space, e-waste, and administrative costs.

With the Pure Storage platform, customers can reduce electricity generation-related emissions by up to 85%. This dramatic decrease not only means less energy consumption; it also means lower water and natural resource impacts, with our arrays requiring 80%-85% less water to operate and far less data center space to install than competing products.

The Pure Storage platform also leverages our unique Evergreen® architecture, enabling it to be extremely energy efficient, simple to manage, reliable, and performant. This means that our products do not become obsolete. Instead, they're constantly upgrading and improving without disruption, allowing our customers to continuously benefit from the latest hardware and software technology while eliminating unnecessary product replacements and associated e-waste.

And Pure1 ®, our AI-powered storage management environment, is continuously optimized to help customers monitor and maximize their energy efficiency. With a Sustainability Assessment that provides transparency in how Pure Storage all-flash appliances are operating, it provides customers with full transparency and near real-time analysis into their storage energy consumption and savings.

Our Commitment to Sustainable Data Storage

Pure Storage has an undeniably momentous opportunity to lead the industry in meaningfully reducing global data center power requirements and is committed to becoming net zero by 2040, covering our Scope 1 and market-based Scope 2 emissions.

In FY24, we launched a pilot of an environmentally focused impact accounting model to quantify the costs of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, material use, water, waste, and land use throughout our value chain, assigning monetary values for a clear perspective on our environmental footprint and an annual comprehensive corporate performance assessment. As we move forward, we will expand our effort in impact accounting to accurately account for the environmental costs in manufacturing and using Pure Storage products. Notably, Pure Storage is the only US-based technology company piloting this method, which will help our customers make informed environmental decisions about their data storage.
