Promega Fall Art Showcase Presents “From This Place: Three Photographers”

Madison, WI USA. (August 6, 2024)

The Promega Fall Art Showcasewill celebrate the power of photography to connect us to the places we inhabit and the stories that shape our lives. "From This Place: Three Photographers" will feature the works of three distinguished Wisconsin photographers, each showcasing their unique perspectives and styles. The exhibition aims to highlight the richness of landscapes, the intricacies of urban environments and the depth of cultural heritage around the world.

  • Lewis Koch draws upon aspects of photography, sculpture, assemblage and text. He calls attention to the often unremarked upon elements of everyday life as seen in the connectedness of all things. Originally hailing from New York City, Koch has called Madison, WI home for decades. His work has been shown and collected internationally.
  • Eric Baillies has distinguished himself by employing 19th-century photographic techniques and equipment to create a stunning body of work. The Madison-based artist uses large-format cameras to capture with handmade silver nitrate glass prints. Using a variety of chemicals, he produces a contact print using the sun to capture the timeless beauty and intricate details of his subjects.
  • Terry Talbot has had work shown in over 50 solo and group exhibitions throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest. Trained in photo journalism at the University of Wisconsin, Talbot has contributed to several Madison alternative press houses and later joined the local radical art movement Gallery 853. He opened Talbot Gallery in 2010 and currently lives in Madison, WI.
