Paving Planned Next Week on Easton Road for Roundabout Safety Improvement Project in Doylestown Township

07/24/2024

King of Prussia, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that paving will occur next week on Easton Road under a $3.9 million project to improve safety by constructing two roundabouts at the intersection of Easton Road and New Britain Road/Sauerman Road in Doylestown Township, Bucks County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
  • Monday, July 29, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Easton Road in both directions at the intersection with Turk Road.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this safety improvement project, PennDOT will construct two adjacent single-lane roundabouts at the bifurcated intersection of Easton Road and New Britain Road/Sauerman Road. The roundabouts will include new drainage and sidewalks; ADA-compliant crossings; bicycle facilities, lighting, and full-depth pavement reconstruction.

James D. Morrissey, Inc. of Philadelphia, PA is the general contractor on this safety improvement project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
