Lifesciences and Healthcare Update - Drugs Technical Advisory Board

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in consultation with the Drugs Technical Advisory Board issued a notification on 10 July 2024 (the "Notification") to publish draft rules to amend the Drugs Rules, 1945.

The proposed amendment is aimed to restrict advertisement of drugs listed under Schedule G of the Drugs Rules, 1945. Upon the proposed amendment coming into effect, any advertisement for Schedule G drugs will have to obtain prior approval from the Central Government. The Notification is open for objections and suggestions till 25 August 2024.
