CSSMCW Welcomes General Surgeon Timothy Horsky, DO

August 26, 2024

Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber (CSSMCW) is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Timothy Horsky, DO, a highly skilled General Surgeon certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, to its esteemed medical team. Dr. Horsky joins Tameka Scott, DO; Hugo Villaneuva, MD; Robert J. Stoffa, MD; Jamie Hicks, CRNP; and Molly Sambor, CRNP at the WindberCare Surgical Associates & Bariatrics office, bringing with him 25 years of extensive surgical experience.

Dr. Horsky is adept in a wide range of general surgical procedures such as gall bladder, hernia, and intestinal surgery and also has experience in performing upper and lower GI endoscopy, bronchoscopy, pacemaker insertion, as well as the insertion of subcutaneous and cardiac loop recorders and AICD devices.

"I truly appreciate working in hospitals like CSSMCW. They strike the perfect balance-offering patients high-quality care without the overwhelming feel of larger institutions, where individuals can sometimes feel like just another number," said Dr. Horsky. "CSSMCW has a nice 'family feel' to it and I am looking forward to being a part of that family."

Before embarking on his medical career, Dr. Horsky served as a paramedic for a decade, driven by a deep desire to help others. He pursued his medical education at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he completed both his osteopathic rotating internship and general surgery residency. Further honing his expertise, he completed a cardiothoracic surgery residency at the prestigious Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey.

Dr. Horsky's career has been marked by various surgical roles across the United States, most recently at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center and UPMC Bedford. In addition to his clinical practice, he is dedicated to educating the next generation of healthcare providers, serving as a Clinical Preceptor for the Physician Assistant Student Program at Saint Francis University and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Originally from Philadelphia, Dr. Horsky moved to the region nearly 12 years ago and has since made it his permanent home. Reflecting on his connection to the area, he shared, "Having grown up visiting family in the local and Pittsburgh regions, I can't imagine living anywhere else. This area feels like home."

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Horsky is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys golfing, fishing, and hunting. He also has a passion for traveling and reading.

Dr. Horsky is committed to delivering compassionate, comprehensive, and expert care to his patients. He will begin seeing patients in September. To schedule an appointment, please contact WindberCare Surgical Associates & Bariatrics at 814-467-3653.
