Woodbine Road intersection improvements update

Oct. 8, 2024- Beginning at9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9 through Friday, Oct. 11, the southbound right turn lane on Woodbine Road at Hwy. 90 will be closed for contractor operations. The remaining southbound lane will be open for right and left turn movements. Work will end at 5 p.m. each day.

Intermittent lane closures will also begin Sunday night, Oct. 13 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.for one week, weather permitting.

MORE ABOUT THE WOODBINE ROAD INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

The construction improvements will include:

  • Extending the merge lane on Woodbine Road from Highway 90
  • Constructing a free-flow (no traffic signal) right turn from Woodbine Road onto Highway 90
  • Providing dedicated dual left turn lanes from Woodbine Road onto Highway 90
  • Extending the merge lane on Highway 90 by an additional 600 feet
  • Other modifications include drainage improvements, new sidewalks on both sides of Woodbine Road, and dedicated left turn lanes on Woodbine Road for access. The entire project, which began in April 2024, is anticipated to take 210 days to complete but all activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.

Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway. Find a view of the map online.
