Lowenstein Sandler Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary of D.C. Office

Lowenstein Sandler is proud to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the firm's Washington, D.C. office.

Lowenstein Chair and Managing Partner Gary M. Partner Zarema A. Jaramillo serves as Managing Partner of the D.C. office, overseeing the office's strategic expansion that has more than doubled its headcount of attorneys and staff over the past five years. She credits the office's growth to "Lowenstein's ability to attract the highest caliber of attorneys who want to collaborate in a great culture that encourages an entrepreneurial mindset." Recent additions to the D.C. office include:

• Partner Matt VanderGoot, who has increased the firm's corporate work in the DMV area, particularly in the ECVC and government contracting spaces;
• Partners Beth Shapiro Kaufman, Megan E. Wernke, and Melissa L. Wiley, and associates Meghan M. Federman and Molefi McIntosh, who all joined the firm in 2023, significantly increasing the firm's capabilities in Private Client Services, Trusts & Estates, and Tax;
• Partner Elinor Ramey, who also joined in 2023 to lead Lowenstein's Exempt Organizations practice;
• Partner and Chair of Lowenstein's Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity practice Amy S. Mushahwar, who is leading the firm's expansion in this burgeoning area, along with new counsel "Kai" Knight and Tricia Y. Wagner, and associate Cairon S. Overton;
• Counsel Trevor A. Levine, who joined earlier this year, offering Investment Management clients his experience in the area of FinTech; and
• Partner Carl J. Hessler, whose practice focuses on Emerging Companies & Venture Capital transactions and now divides his time between D.C., New York, and Silicon Valley.
  
  

Doreen M. Edelman, a widely recognized adviser on foreign trade and investments by such organizations as Foreign Investment Watch and Chambers, joined the firm in 2018 as Chair of the firm's Global Trade & National Security practice in D.C; she says she is thrilled by the firm's growth in these interrelated practices.
