Lowenstein Sandler Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary of D.C. Office

Lowenstein Sandler is proud to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the firm's Washington, D.C. office.

Lowenstein Chair and Managing Partner Gary M. Wingens says: "Lowenstein's presence in the nation's capital has facilitated our firm's growth far more than just geographically; it has heightened the firm's national reputation and ability to serve clients across a wide range sectors who seek to do business throughout the global economy."

Partner Zarema A. Jaramillo serves as Managing Partner of the D.C. office, overseeing the office's strategic expansion that has more than doubled its headcount of attorneys and staff over the past five years. She credits the office's growth to "Lowenstein's ability to attract the highest caliber of attorneys who want to collaborate in a great culture that encourages an entrepreneurial mindset." She adds: "The synergy of our core practices here in D.C., including Antitrust/Competition, Global Trade & National Security, and Data Privacy and Cybersecurity-are synergistic with our market-leading corporate and transactional practices, allowing us to serve national clients in technology, privacy equity, and life sciences. At the same time, our expansion of the Chambers-ranked Private Client Services, and the addition of the Emerging Companies & Venture Capital practice in Washington, have deepened our already-impressive bench and have elevated our service offerings to clients across multiple geographies."

Jaramillo adds: "I truly believe you will be hard pressed to find a better, more collegial group of talented lawyers to work alongside."

Recent additions to the D.C. office include:

Doreen M. Edelman, a widely recognized adviser on foreign trade and investments by such organizations as Foreign Investment Watch and Chambers, joined the firm in 2018 as Chair of the firm's Global Trade & National Security practice in D.C; she says she is thrilled by the firm's growth in these interrelated practices. Edelman says: "The ongoing challenges of cross-border business have made the interdisciplinary services that our lawyers provide particularly important. The entrepreneurial and innovative approach we take across all of our locations and practices has proved highly valuable for both startups and established corporations that want to make their mark in the global economy."

The firm celebrated its D.C. office's milestone with a festive event on the roof of The Hay-Adams historic hotel on October 17.
