MONDAY, August 26
8:00 a.m. - Tax & Finance Steering Committee Meeting
The board is invited to attend a virtual Tax & Finance Steering Committee meeting hosted by Colorado Counties, Inc. (CCI).

9:00 a.m. - Property Tax Legislation Meeting
The board is invited to attend a virtual Property Tax Legislation meeting hosted by Counties and Commissioners Acting Together (CCAT).

TUESDAY, August 27
8:30 a.m. - Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

  1. For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b). Purpose: Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police and legal standards applicable to correctional institutions.
  2. Determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations; developing strategy for negotiations; and instructing negotiators pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(e). Purpose: Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police.
  3. Personnel matters pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(f). Purpose: Legal Standards applicable to correctional institutions.

10:00 a.m. - Business Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

  1. Approval of county cash requirements as prepared and posted by the Finance Department and direct staff to publish.
  2. Approval of the renewal of a fermented malt beverage & wine license for Roadhouse Market.
  3. Approval of the ambulance service authorization to operate for Los Pinos Fire Protection District.
  4. Approval of the San Juan Basin Area Agency on Aging Proposal for Services for SFY 2024-2025.
  5. Approval of a La Plata County Election Services Intergovernmental Agreement with the Durango School District 9-R and the Board of County Commissioners of La Plata County, for the November 5, 2024 General Election.
  6. Ratification of the certification of the Abstract of Assessment report for 2024, certifying that the County Board of Equalization (CBOE) has concluded its hearings and that all valuation changes ordered by the CBOE have been incorporated therein.
  7. Consideration of Resolution 2024-31, amending the code of La Plata County, Colorado by the addition of Chapter 44, establishing impact fees for the capital facilities made necessary by new development in La Plata County.
  8. Consideration of Resolution No. 2024-32, referring to the registered electors of La Plata County, including the unincorporated areas and the municipalities of Bayfield and Ignacio, a question on the November 5, 2024 ballot authorizing the expanded use of its 2% lodger's tax by reallocating a portion of the current tax for childcare and affordable housing opportunities and needs.
