For Fifth Consecutive Year Lowenstein Ranked as Top Patent Firm by Juristat, Including #1 in TC 2800 and #4 in TC 2100

For the fifth year in a row, Lowenstein Sandler has been named among the top law firms in Juristat's rankings of leading patent law firms.

The firm was ranked number one in Technology Center 2800, for applications relating to semiconductors, memory, electrical and optical systems, and components.

Lowenstein's other rankings included 4th in Technology Center 2100 (applications for patents relating to computer architecture, software and information security), 17th in TC 2600 (applications relating to communications), and 24th for TC 2400 (computer networks, multiplex, cable, and cryptography/security).

Juristat's rankings consider both volume and performance in that specific technology center. The organization bases the rankings on how well a firm performed in three key metrics over a 12-month period. These metrics are:

  • Number of applications filed
  • Allowance rate
  • Average number of office actions before allowance

This analysis was conducted in September 2024, and analyzed public applications disposed (or in the case of the first metric, applications filed) between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022. To qualify for inclusion, a firm must have filed a minimum of 50 applications in the tech center during that time period. This ensures the firm has extensive experience in that technology center and provides an appropriate-sized dataset to evaluate performance metrics.

Lowenstein's Patent Prosecution & Counseling practice includes registered patent lawyers and practitioners in intellectual property, technology, and privacy law. Many hold degrees in physics, chemistry, biology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, and mathematics, allowing key insight into the processes that create virtually every imaginable product and patentable method or process; they work closely with the firm's collaborate business lawyers to advise on the intellectual property implications of any corporate transaction in a technology-based or science-based company's business cycle.
