The lack of a Petroleum Activities License by BakerHostetler client Associated Energy Group (AEG) is the primary reason that the company cannot dispute the terms of the Djibouti government's Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) fuel contract with another supplier, according to a Law360 article titled "DOD Says Missing License Is Needed to Dispute $1B Fuel Deal." Published August 13, 2024, the article explains that even if the DLA removed the license requirement from its contract solicitation, the license is still required under Djibouti law. AEG is represented by Partners Todd Canni and Stephen Ruscus, Counsel Kevin Barnett and Associates Kevin Dorn and Kaitlyn Toth.
