London, Italy Run for Italian Sports Day

This is the first-ever Italy Run to be held in London, and it aims to celebrate Italian Sports Day in the World. The event - organised by the Consulate General of Italy in London and featuring two icons of Italian sport, Gianfranco Zola and Roberto Di Matteo, as ambassadors - will take place on 22 September, following a 5 km route through Holland Park and the streets of Kensington. It will be open not only to running enthusiasts but also to beginners of all ages and nationalities.

Thanks to the Italy Run's partner companies, prizes will be awarded to the winners of the three men's and women's categories: adults, over 65s, and juniors. The 1,000 participants will receive a kit including a blue shirt with the event's logo and the Italian flag: a striking blue wave will thus sweep through Kensington, adding a touch of Italy's tricolour to the city's streets. At the race's finish line, an Italy Village will be set up where event sponsors will showcase their products, offering an opportunity to promote Made in Italy and highlight some of Italy's finest offerings.

Organised in collaboration with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the Italy Run will also be an opportunity to do good. Proceeds from registration will be donated to two charities: the Eagle Foundation, which fights health poverty, and the Kensington-Chelsea Foundation, which supports social projects in London.

As part of the celebrations for Italian Sports Day in the World, the Italy Run will serve as a significant moment of unity for London's large Italian community, as well as an opportunity to promote the values of sport and solidarity by providing concrete support to charity projects.
