McCaul Honored with Friend of Farm Bureau Award for Supporting Texas’ Farmers and Ranchers

Austin, Texas - U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) received the Friend of Farm Bureau award from the American Farm Bureau for his efforts to support Texas' farmers, ranchers, and the agriculture community.

"As a fourth generation Texan, I am honored to receive this award from the American Farm Bureau on behalf of our hardworking farmers and ranchers in my district," said Rep. McCaul. "Texas is home to the largest number of farms and ranches in the country. Our farmers and ranchers put in long, hard days to protect our lands, secure our food supply chains, and get food on the table. I am thankful for the work they do and will continue to advocate for their needs and support the next generation in agriculture careers."

Background:

The American Farm Bureau awards members of Congress based on nominations by state farm bureaus for their legislative work to support farmers, ranchers, and the agriculture community.

Recently, Rep. McCaul joined 140 Republican colleagues in sending a letter to House GOP leadership, reaffirming their commitment to advancing a farm bill that meets the needs of production agriculture and rural America. The letter emphasized the importance of the 2024 Farm Bill and noted that farmers, ranchers, and producers are still living under outdated policies from the 2018 Farm Bill. The full text of the letter can be found here.
