Two Juveniles Arrested and a Firearm Recovered in Roxbury

At about 8:00 PM, on Sunday, July 28, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male and a 17-year-old juvenile male on firearm charges.

Officers were monitoring the crowds of a community basketball tournament in the area of Marcella Park. Officers observed a fight a break out and saw an involved individual hand a black satchel to another individual.

Officers quickly separated the involved parties and observed a group of males walk away from the area towards Highland Street. Officers also saw the other involved male talking to a group of females. Officers overheard one of the females make mention that one of the males had a firearm.

Officers observed the suspect with the black satchel attempt to give the bag back to the male involved in the fight. Officers approached one of the suspects who immediately attempted to walk away. Officers quickly stopped the suspect and conducted a pat frisk. Officers felt the presence of a firearm and placed the suspect into handcuffs. Officers were able to locate the second suspect in the area of 146 Marcella Street. The firearm was later determined to be a ghost gun with a thirty round capable magazine inserted. The firearm was loaded with one round in the chamber and fifteen rounds in the magazine.

Both juvenile males were placed under arrest and charged with Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Delinquent to Wit; Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. Both are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
