Vicor to present 48V power solutions for EVs and High Performance Computing

Vicor Corporation (Andover, MA) announced that Vicor K.K Japan (Headquarters: Shinagawa ward, Tokyo) will present innovative and highly efficient power conversion approaches for High Performance Computing (HPC) & EVs at the Energy and Electronics seminar 2024 in SOJO University, Kumamoto, Japan on November 28-29.

Seishi Tsukimoto, Senior Application Engineer, of Vicor KK will be present on "Vicor's latest power solutions for HPC and automotive" on November 29th at 1:00 pm. Tsukimoto will explain how the Vicor Factorized Power Architecture optimizes HPC 48V power distribution to support high-performance power supply for xPUs. By applying Vicor Vertical Power Delivery or Lateral Power Delivery, voltage drop and power loss can be reduced using Vicor high density power modules.

In automotive Tsukimoto will address the movement toward 48V power distribution to meet the growing power demand of xEVs. The Vicor miniature DC-DC converter modules make it easy to achieve high voltage (800V or 400V) to 48V to 12V conversion required for zonal architectures. The flexibility of power modules also supports active suspension, pre-charging and a host of other applications with products that can be easily arrayed.

The Energy and Electronics seminar introduces the latest trends in mobility technology, new service developments, semiconductor implementation technology, and the forefront of green AI. Other session topics include: Battery-swappable EVs, optimization of V2G with AI, battery reuse, on-board chargers and 48V systems.
