We are thrilled to announce the launch of Meet MAT 4: the 3D texturing contest, hosted on The Rookies: the largest community of aspiring artists and students in the creative fields.
Adobe Substance 3D introduced our little mascot MAT with the first texturing contest back in 2017. With thousands of paint jobs, a dedicated book, collectible figurines and various 3D printed versions, MAT has been busy! And today, MAT is back. He changed a bit. He grew. He needs new texturing, new looks. He needs you.
After the roaring success of Meet Mat 3, which attracted hundreds of entries from non-professionals and over a hundred schools around the globe, the stakes have been raised, and we can't wait to see what this year's participants bring to the table! Join the contest on The Rookies to participate and create your very own MAT, exchange with a vibrant community of aspiring artists, professional jury members and win amazing prizes.
What is Meet MAT 4?
Meet MAT is an annual contest that challenges students and aspiring artists to showcase their creativity and talent by using Substance 3D Painter. Participants are provided with a 3D model of "MAT" and are tasked with transforming our beloved character into a unique work of art through imaginative and detailed texturing.
The contest focuses on the powerful features of Substance 3D Painter and the ever-expanding tools at an artist's disposal. Meet Mat 4 offers an opportunity to learn new tools, showcase your skills, and gain recognition in the industry. Let your imagination run wild and push your boundaries of creativity and technical expertise.

- Eligibility: Entrants must be at least 18 years of age or older and have no more than one year of professional industry experience at the time of the contest's closing date, which is October 28, 2024.

- Tools: Participants are required to use Adobe Substance 3D Painter as the primary tool for texturing the provided model of MAT.
