At the Cabinet's weekly meeting Thursday, Premier Cho Jung-tai received a Ministry of Justice report on the planned third phase (2025-2028) of the government's New Generation Anti-drug Strategy. The premier said that combating drugs is integral to societal safety and the nation's development. He urged all levels of government to cooperate in the fight against drugs, in order to foster a healthier Taiwan and create a future where homes and schools are drug-free.
The premier noted that the first and second phases of the New Generation Anti-drug Strategy launched in 2017 and 2021, respectively, and have already achieved considerable results. The third phase, set to run from 2025 to 2028, will allocate substantial funding across five key areas-drug enforcement, drug screening, drug rehabilitation, drug education and integrated planning-with the aim of reducing the physical and mental harm drugs inflict on the public.
