Would You Pay Six Figures for this Six-Wheeled Porsche

A 1987 Porsche 944 that's not only been converted into a pickup but also packs six wheels is for sale in Germany.

Although priced at a lofty $110,000 at today's exchange rate, that's still a hefty discount compared to the $190,000 that the seller was trying to achieve in 2023. If you look at the shear amount of graft that has gone into the car then it could even be considered good value.

The Porsche pickup was built by 914-Boxergarage in Karlsbad over a period of 26 years, with a claimed 2500 man-hours going into its construction.

Under a 944 S2 hood is a reconditioned three-liter engine from a 968, the headlamps come from a 924 Carrera GT, and the 17-inch BBS alloys would once have been worn by a 993 Turbo (actually one and a half Turbos). The three axles, however are sourced from a couple of Audi 200 Turbos. If all that didn't grab your attention then the bright orange paintwork, Porsche decals and number 69 on the doors surely will.

The cabin is trimmed in black leather, accessorized with orange to match the exterior. There are heated seats, power steering, electric windows and a stereo. Extra fresh-air is available by removing the custom Targa roof panel. The pickup bed is decked in oak and has a removable tailgate, plus there's a trailer hitch so you could even tow another Porsche if you fancied it.

The build process began in 1995 and was completed in 2021. It's passed Germany's strict TÜV testing and is said to be "ready to drive immediately."
