Activities to be conducted at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base

Two activities will take place on Wednesday, July 23rd, at the 57th "Căpitan Aviator Constantin Cantacuzino" Air Base, in Mihail Kogălniceanu, as follows:

*Starting 10.00, end of mission ceremony of the Finnish Air Force and British Royal Air Force detachments. The British detachment, consisting of approximately 260 soldiers (pilots and technical personnel) and six Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, and the Finnish detachment made up of approximately 90 soldiers (pilots and technical-engineering personnel) and seven F-18 Hornet aircraft, conducted NATO-led enhanced Air Policing missions together with the Romanian Air Force's soldiers.

*Starting 12.00, Media Day for the presentation of the two US Air Force B-52H Stratofortress aircraft which make up the 20th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron. The squadron will conduct missions alongside the NATO allies and other international partners to ensure the security commitments in the US European Command area of responsibility. The regular deployment of the US strategic bombers demonstrate the way the US and NATO are prepared and integrate with the allies and the host nation's partners to deter threats and defend the Alliance.
