Volusia County Community Assistance will conduct two public meetings in which community members will elect one west side representative at the DeLand meeting and two east side representatives and at the Daytona Beach meeting to represent low-income people in that area on the Human Services Advisory Board. This is a requirement pursuant to grant regulations.

Each meeting will consist of an overview of human services, roles and responsibilities of an advisory board member, and elections of representatives of low-income populations. An alternate may also be elected to serve in the absence of the elected representative.

The meetings will be held at the following times and locations:

  • 5:30 p.m. Jan. 13: Daytona Beach Regional Library (City Island), 105 Jackie Robinson Pkwy., Daytona Beach
  • 5:30 p.m. Jan. 15: DeLand Regional Library, 130 E. Howry Ave., DeLand

The advisory board provides guidance to assist the Volusia County Council in developing Community Services Block Grant program goals and objectives, identifying community needs, and evaluating program effectiveness.
