Storm Milton: City to provide sandbags in preparation for Storm Milton

In preparation for Tropical Storm Milton's expected effects on our area this week, the City of Palatka will provide free sand and sandbags for residents at the south corner of St. Johns Avenue and South 11th Street starting at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7th. The sandbags will be available at the City's main fire station on the north corner of the intersection.

As Storm Milton approaches Florida, hurricane preparedness is crucial. Preparing in advance can help protect lives and property and ensure that families and communities are ready to respond quickly to potential threats. Stocking up on emergency supplies, securing homes, and having an evacuation plan in place are vital steps to minimize risks and ensure safety. Staying informed and following guidance from local authorities can make a significant difference as the storm draws near.

Residents are advised to check the City's website at www.Palatka-Fl.Gov or Putnam County's website at www.main.putnam-fl.com/ and to monitor local media for more information.
