Alexandria Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team Identifies and Arrests Driver in Pedestrian Hit and Run

Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 12:26 a.m. Alexandria Police officers responded to the intersection of Duke and Jordan Streets for the report of a hit-and-run. A juvenile male was walking north across Duke Street at Jordan Street when a blue sedan struck the juvenile, stopped briefly, and left the scene. Members of the Alexandria Police Department (APD) Crash Reconstruction Team interviewed witnesses and reviewed dashcam video provided by a passing motorist. APD identified and arrested the driver around 9:30 a.m. the same morning. He is Earl Lucas of Alexandria and was charged with Felony Hit and Run.

The juvenile who was struck is in stable condition and remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
