Today, the children who attend the kindergarten "Naša radost"in Zvornik received an EU donation of new equipment for their kindergarden gym. This project recognized the present key challenges, including promoting a healthy lifestyle and physical activity among preschool children. New sports equipment, such as mats and other props, will now enable the children to develop motor, emotional and social skills through play and physical activities.

This initiative is part of the wider "EU for Local Communities" Project, which aims to improve learning environment and promote healthy lifestyles. Educational institutions are the foundation of early education, playing a key role in the early growth and development of children. Recognizing this importance, through the Project, the European Union helped the preschool institution "Naša radost" to create an environment that encourages learning, creativity and physical activity.

"I am happy that we helped equip the sports hall in the kindergarten 'Naša radost'. The EU is a loyal partner to Bosnia and Herzegovina and this initiative is part of a project, which supports the needs of local communities across the country. Investing in children and improving the conditions for their growth and development must always be a priority. Our investments in facilities for children aim to create safe and stimulating environments where they can grow, play and learn", said Stefano Ellero, Head of Cooperation in the EU Delegation in BiH.

A workshop for kids, parents, and representatives of local institutions was held today in the newly renovated gym. Workshop participants learned about the EU in a fun way playing different games and using the new equipment. Through activities such as quizzes, flag games and physical challenges the children were able to learn more about the cultural diversity of Europe, while enjoying the play and interacting with each other.

"The project is of great importance for our institution, because it contributes to improving the quality of preschool education. Thanks to the support of the European Union and the organizations that implement it, CPCD and HELP, we managed to equip the gym and thus improve our resources and programs. We are especially grateful that they recognized our needs and chose us, thus allowing us to further strengthen our work with children and provide them with even better quality support in the most important years of their development", said Maja Soro, director of the Kindergarten, "Naša radost" Zvornik.

"I would like to thank the EU Delegation, the Center for the Promotion of Civil Society and the HELP organization for supporting the Kindergarten project "Our Joy". The equipping of this gymnasium is the result of their efforts," said Biljana Milić, Head of the Department for economy and social activities of the Zvornik City Administration.

The initiative "Support for developing the quality pre-school upbringing and education" is part of the wider Project "EU for local communities" funded by the European Union and implemented by the Civil Society Promotion Center (CPCD) with the partner organization HELP.

"This initiative reflects the commitment of the European Union, the Civil Society Promotion Center (CPCD) and HELP to improving the conditions for learning and physical activity of the youngest. The equipment for the gym created a safe and functional environment, which is crucial for children's development. The newly renovated space enables children to play sports, develop team spirit and strengthen their health. This is a long-term benefit for the local community that will also empower future generations. We expect that the children will happily use the new room, and we continue to work on improving the quality of life in our local communities," said Adnan Mević, Project Manager for the EU Project for Local Communities.
