SAVANNAH, GA - Fort Pulaski National Monument will celebrate 100 years as a National Monument with a free weekend of special programs, addresses, and performances on October 12-13, 2024. During this two-day celebration, the park will welcome state and local officials, National Park Service leadership, a variety of community and agency partners, and the public to Cockspur Island to look both back - at 100+ years of Fort Pulaski history - and forward, toward the park's future. Fort Pulaski National Monument will be free and open to the public on both Saturday October 12 and Sunday October 13, 2024 during operating hours.

On Saturday October 12, visitors to the Fort can start the day with a ranger program and cannon demonstration beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a keynote address from visiting NPS leadership and local leaders beginning at 11:00 AM. Talks and guided programs will continue throughout the afternoon. At 6:00 PM, the Third Infantry Division's regimental band will cap off the day with a performance inside historic Fort Pulaski.

On Sunday October 13, visitors can begin with a 10:00 AM nature walk and then experience all that Fort Pulaski's community partners have to offer during a day filled with history talks, musical and artistic performances, and guided programs.

Throughout the day on both Saturday October 12 and Sunday October 13, park staff will offer pop-up archaeological and photographic exhibits highlighting various periods and themes from Fort Pulaski's 195-year history. Food trucks will also be available. A full program schedule will be published on the Fort Pulaski National Monument website and via social media in the lead up to the event.
