Meeting with Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization

On September 11, 2024, the Permanent representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Sharaf Sheralizoda met with the Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization, Professor Celeste Saulo.

During the meeting, the sides discussed climate change, environmental protection issues, study and research of glaciers.

The Permanent Representative emphasized the importance of Tajikistan's international initiatives related to water and climate change including International Year of Glaciers' Preservation-2025 and introduced the resolution "Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences, 2025-2034".
