Marquette University will resume the search for its next vice president and director of athletics, President Kimo Ah Yun announced. The search committee will soon conduct interviews with semi-finalists drawn from a strong pool of candidates.

The search was paused in June while the university underwent a search for its next permanent president. Bill Scholl, who announced his retirement in May, will remain in his role until a successor is named.

The search committee, which comprises faculty, staff, an assistant dean, a trustee and a trustee emeritus, will continue to be chaired by Dr. Kati Berg, acting dean of the Diederich College of Communication and faculty athletics representative.

In addition to Berg, the committee members include:

  • Steve Bailey, head coach of men's golf
  • Sarah Bobert, executive associate athletic director/senior woman administrator
  • Steve Frieder, senior advisor to the president and corporate secretary
  • Kevin Frisinger, member of the Marquette Board of Trustees; vice president and senior investment consultant at Robert W. Baird & Co.
  • Jaime McGaver, assistant athletic director, compliance, and former Marquette student-athlete
  • Tim McMahon, vice president for University Advancement
  • Dr. Karen Robinson, interim assistant dean for graduate programs in the College of Nursing and former Marquette student-athlete
  • Chuck Swoboda, Eng '89, trustee emeritus, chairman of Vast Therapeutics, innovator-in-residence at Marquette
