Baker McKenzie acts for CS Energy on its acquisition of the AUD 1.3 billion Lotus Creek Wind Farm
Baker McKenzie is pleased to announce that it has successfully assisted CS Energy on its acquisition of the AUD 1.3 billion Lotus Creek Wind Farm Project, planned to be operational in 2027, from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. The wind farm will comprise 46 wind turbines near St Lawrence, in Queensland.
The transaction also involved CS Energy issuing Notice to Proceed for the construction phase of the Lotus Creek Wind Farm project. The project will be delivered under a construction contract with Vestas and Zenviron as lead contractors, with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners overseeing the project delivery during the construction phase. The project will be connected to the Powerlink transmission network and Powerlink will commence their works for connection in the coming weeks. Vestas has also been appointed to deliver the long term maintenance service agreement for the project.

The wind farm will deliver renewable, low-cost energy to the National Electricity Market and contribute to the Queensland Government's net-zero emissions target by 2050 and significantly contribute to the 2032 70% renewable energy target.
The transaction was led by Tanya Denning, with the assistance of Matt Coleman, Sean Duffy, Sarah Merrett, Ian Innes, Anna Vella, Samuel Allam, Laura Phillips, Rachel McNally, Max Dowser-Strode, Odette Adams, Louis Re-Matthews, Kelsey Baird, Fletcher O'Connor, Nicholas Langsworth, and Megan Liew.
